Hello! I am West Coast native, Mama of three, lover of funky yoga pants, strong coffee, morning movement, kitchen dance parties, dog friends, Jim Carrey movies and a million other things…
At 22, spine surgery corrected a severe case of scoliosis and my D1 soccer player body was toast. I craved movement and endorphins, but my familiar options left my body feeling terrible.
I stepped into a heated vinyasa class in San Francisco and was HOOKED. The music. The words. The sweet sweat that poured out of me. I was lighter, more open and felt at ease.
3 kids, 19 years, and 500+ hours of training later, I am so grateful for the energy strength and perspective I continue to receive from my practice. When I exit a studio, a positive force washes over me: that force is my second wind, why I teach, and what I want to offer my students.

I came to yoga as a young college student with scoliosis and chronic knee pain; desperately trying to manage my own injuries. Yoga definitely helped me feel better physically, but what really hooked me to this practice was the calm, centered feeling I had after every class. It was like someone turned on the lights… suddenly everything was brighter, and I was calmer, more patient, and less reactive. I pretty quickly decided that I needed to share this practice with anyone who would listen!
After 15 years of y all over westchester, I’m super excited to teach at second wind! My yoga classes use movement and music to help get you out of your head and into your body. Expect to have fun, push your limits, and maybe sing along :)

Yoga is a perfect, practical system of self-culture, the master-key to unlock the realms of peace and bliss, mystery and miracle. It is the discipline of the mind, senses and the physical body. It helps me attain perfect concentration, inner integrity and spiritual calmness. Beyond the mat, I believe in the magic of "off-mat" practice, where yoga principles shape our lives and relationships.
To me, yoga is beyond just a practice—it's a journey that transformed my life from the inside out. My path to becoming an instructor began with my own need for healing. Yoga became a sanctuary for my mind, helping me find peace and strength in ways I never imagined. Now, I’m dedicated to sharing this incredible power with others, guiding them toward a similar sense of wholeness. I am excited to hold space for you and support you in your journey at Second Wind. See you on the mat! Namaste always, Emma
